'Trying Times' - is The Liquid Edge's last video of 2023. It is a fitting message for those of you who are interested in lyrics. It was one of the most challenging songs I've ever written/ produced. Not because of it's complexity but because of the energy I was trying to inject into it. I really hopr you enjoy it and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! Trying Times Words and music by Tim Connors Patience and gratitude are in short supply, I wish I could share the reason why, Still every day I think it’s true, I do the best that I can do, But it’s not enough no matter how hard I try, I work all day every day, gotta’ get some pay to give half away, To a government that lies to us all the time, Though it’s not OK, that’s just the way it’s always been, so they say, So don’t complain, just shut your mouth and please get in line, I don’t understand why I do the things that I do. If I did, the first thing I’d do is explain those things to you. Sometimes I could kick myself, It’s all on me, cant blame no one else, After all I’m the one that ignored all the red flags, And I don’t think I believe in love, I’ve been burned before and I have enough, The way I see it now my mind’s not going to change, I don’t understand why I do the things that I do. If I did, the first thing I’d do is explain those things to you. There’s no God, I can’t believe in him, after all the shit that he’s put us in, Sitting high upon his throne all amused, You say “Tim don’t! That’s a sin.
