[4K] The Little Mermaid Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Ride, join us for a full on-ride experience aboard this beautifully themed dark ride located in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure Park in California. The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a family-friendly attraction that brings the story of the 1989 animated Disney classic The Little Mermaid to life through music, scenes, and characters from the film. Guests board colorful clamshell ride vehicles and journey through key moments from Ariel’s world under the sea, including her grotto, the 'Under the Sea' musical sequence, Ursula’s lair, and the romantic boat scene featuring 'Kiss the Girl.' The finale celebrates Ariel and Prince Eric’s wedding with fireworks and all the Little Mermaid characters joining the celebration. The attraction first opened at Disney California Adventure on June 3, 2011, on the former site of Golden Dreams as part of a wider effort to reimagine and enhance the park. It was later updated in 2014 with enhanced lighting, new character figures, and improved effects. The ride system uses an Omnimover format with clamshell vehicles, similar to those seen in The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. Guests pass through immersive sets and animated scenes set to the original songs from the film, including 'Part of Your World,' 'Under the Sea,' 'Poor Unfortunate Souls,' and 'Kiss the Girl.' The Little Mermaid, released in 1989, was a major turning point in Disney animation. The film introduced audiences to Ariel, a young mermaid princess who longs to be part of the human world. With memorable songs by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman and a cast of beloved characters like Sebastian, Flounder, King Triton, and Ursula, it remains one of Disney’s most iconic animated features. Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World has nearly identical layout, however, the queue and exterior differ, with Florida’s version set at Prince Eric’s castle. Paradise Gardens Park, where this ride is located, was once part of Paradise Pier before it was re-themed in the late 2010s. This area retains a more traditional seaside boardwalk atmosphere and is home to attractions like Goofy’s Sky School, The Golden Zephyr, and Jumpin’ Jellyfish. Disney California Adventure Park, opened in 2001, is the second theme park at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. The park explores the spirit of California through themed areas such as Grizzly Peak, Pixar Pier, Hollywood Land, Avengers Campus, and Paradise Gardens Park. It blends storytelling, character experiences, and thrill rides in a way that complements the original Disneyland Park.
