In this video, I will take you to experience the Hutongs in Miaoying Temple Dongjiadao area in Beijing, China. My walking route starts from Zhao Dengyu Road and ends at Donglangxia Hutong. On this route, you can see couples taking wedding photos, and you can also see the simplest life of the people in Hutong. The culture of Beijing's ancient capital is "Hutong culture." Beijing's Hutongs first originated in the Yuan Dynasty(AD1260), and there were more than 6,000 at most. There are generally courtyards on both sides of the Hutongs. Hutongs all look similar from the outside, but their internal characteristics are different. They are not only the culture heritages of the city, but also the place where ordinary people in Beijing live. Beijingers have a special affection for hutongs. The Miaoying Temple is also known as the "White Stupa Temple", is a Chinese Buddhist temple on the north side of Fuchengmennei Street in the Xicheng District of Beijing. The temple's White Pagoda was built in AD1279 in the Yuan Dynasty and is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhist pagoda in China. Unfortunately, in AD1368, thunder and lightning burned down all the halls in the temple, and only the White Pagoda survived. During the Kangxi and Qianlong years of the Qing Dynasty, Miaoying Temple was overhauled. During the Republic of China, it became one of the four major temple fairs in the capital and became a favorite place for people. Today, the White Pagoda stands among the residents, becoming a landmark building in Beijing and an important cultural monument left over from the Yuan Dynasty.
