Site Zero, the world‘s largest plastic recycling plant, was developed by Sutco RecyclingTechnik GmbH in co-operation with Svensk Plaståtervinning, TOMRA and Mepex Consult. The plant has an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes of mixed plastic packaging from households. Covering an area of 60,000 square metres, the plant can separate up to 42 tonnes of plastic waste per hour into twelve high-purity fractions and recycle up to 95 percent of all packaging delivered. The output fractions consist of rigid PP, rigid HDPE, flexible LDPE, flexible PP, transparent PET trays, transparent PET bottles, coloured PET bottles, EPS, PS, PVC, two grades of mixed polyolefin laminates as well as metal and non-plastic waste. The plant‘s innovative technology includes 60 NIR sensors, screening drums, ballistic separators and digital process monitoring. These technologies enable impressive recycling rates and make a significant contribution to the circular economy. More than 500 tonnes of steel and 5,000 metres of conveyor technology work together in this state-of-the-art facility to shape the future of recycling. WE GET THE BEST OUT - www.sutco.com
