Saghri Sazan is the oldest and the first neighborhood of Rasht. This neighborhood starts from Badiatullah crossing on Motahhari Street and ends at the Iraqi Bridge Square. This neighborhood is composed of a combination of 2 words Saghari meaning shoes and makers, because this neighborhood was once a shoemaker. Saghari literally means a kind of tanned leather that was used by scholars and clerics at that time. History The reason why this neighborhood is called the first neighborhood of Rasht is that many famous and influential people lived in this place and it had many baths and a bazaar. Index places There are several famous passages in this neighborhood, including Sang-e Pol and Daneshsara. Among the famous mosques of this neighborhood is Haj Sami Mosque, which is the oldest mosque according to antiquities experts, consisting of ten elephants with a traditional roof and Chinese pottery. Agha Seyyed Abbas Mosque is where the tombs of two descendants of Imams are located.
