Please bear with us...] On 1 May 2020 the Government released the final draft of the Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill. This is the draft legislation New Zealanders will be voting on at the referendum on 19 September. On 6 May we ran a Live Chat session setting out key new features of the bill, and answering as many questions as we could. It's a world-leading piece of public health legislation, which will put regulations in place to minimise the social and health harms of cannabis. The Drug Foundation is encouraging New Zealander to consider voting YES. The purpose of the session was to provide an opportunity for everyone interested in drug policy a chance to understands just what they’ll be voting on.
