This demo will show one very simple and easy song project which takes advantage of the new Chord Mode feature of the 4Pockets Helium MIDI sequencer and also the new Tone Packets feature to generate a guitar song in 4Pockets MIDI Strummer. It's very easy to set up and use the new features and start making some really nice sounds. To be clear the new features being demonstrated in this video are the new Chord Mode in Helium MIDI Sequencer and the new Tone Packets protocol, developed by 4Pockets in association with Greg Riker and David Collett. The Tone Packets feature has been added to a few 4Pockets apps already and more will be supported soon. The custom layout in Helium that is shown is a longstanding feature, and this version was created specifically for use in this project to enhance the performance, and works completely independently from the Tone Packets and the Chord Mode to control the playback settings of MIDI Strummer. *Note: It is recommended to start your chord progression on Bar 2 to give Strummer a run-up for that first chord (as shown in the demos below) within AUM. This was a tip from Paul at 4Pockets himself. *Resources for the new 4Pockets app features* /* Helium MIDI Sequencer 1 38 Update by 4Pockets */ @PaultheMusicMan • Helium MIDI Sequencer 1 38 Update by 4Pockets /* Tone Packets - What is it, how does it work?*/ @PaultheMusicMan • Tone Packets - What is it, how does it work? **Link to download the custom Helium Layout for 4Pockets MIDI Strummer used in the demo: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SPVL... Just follow the procedure described at the end of the video to copy the custom layout into Helium. Note that the top rows are simply comments on which CC values to send to control Strummer, and not for entering notes. The CC values would be sent via the CC control lane in Helium or another app. Also, uploaded a new version which does not display the MIDI numbers that do not have any function.
