“Opening element of long string of future cooperation…”: Israeli Envoy on Haifa Port takeover

The acquirement of Haifa Port, a strategic asset for Israel, by an Indian company, is the “symbol of trust between our people,” said Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon on Jan 31. “Haifa is a strategic port for Israel. The fact that we are really depositing it in the hand of an Indian company like Adani, I think, it is the symbol of the trust between our people. I hope the investment in the port will be just opening element of long string of future cooperation in the economic fields,” Naor Gilon told ANI. An Adani Group-led joint venture (JV) on January 31 took over Israel’s Haifa Port.
