LIFESAVER: http://www.life-saver.org.uk/ RESUSCITATION COUNCIL: https://www.resus.org.uk/ Would you know what to do in an emergency? 30,000 people each year in the UK have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest where the ambulance services attempt resuscitation - and less than 10% of those people will survive. Yet, if a bystander starts CPR they could double a person's chances of survival. Lifesaver is a cutting-edge way to learn life-saving skills anytime, anywhere, through four action-packed scenarios. It throws you into the heart of the action as you make the crucial decisions and learn the essential skills needed to save a life. The Resuscitation Council (UK) combined forces with award-winning production company UNIT9 to develop Lifesaver. It was written and directed by BAFTA award-winner Martin Percy, and features the actress Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens). In September 2017, it was updated to include a brand-new scenario focused on young people and Lifesaver VR, a virtual reality version, was launched to bring digital CPR into new dimensions. In 2018 Lifesaver was on display in the Welcome Collection’s Can Graphic Design Save Your Life? Exhibition. Awards E-Learning Awards 2013: Lifesaver won four gold and one silver award at the E-Learning Awards 2013, the first quadruple gold win. The awards won are listed in the E-learning Awards press release. BAFTA Awards: Nomination 2013. The Webby Awards: People's voice winner. IPA Best of Health Awards: Digital Media GOLD, Digital Media Best of Show Evidence A study was conducted by Dr Joyce Yeung, et al. to compare the effect of Lifesaver training only, face-to-face (F2F) training only, and a combination of Lifesaver and F2F training.
