µBlock's dynamic filters override static filters, i.e. those filters which are in EasyList, EasyPrivacy, etc. Sometimes it may happen these static filters break an important fonctionalité on a web site, and trying to figure how to fix this can be quite tedious, even for advanced users. Dynamic filtering has many useful purposes, and one of these useful purpose is to point-and-click to un-break web sites. This is an example of such web site, un-broken through the use of dynamic filters. Remember... Green = bypass any static "block" filter, and allow network requests to go through. Dark gray = cancel dynamic filtering affecting for the cell -- static filtering is still applied Red = bypass any static "allow" filter, and prevent network requests to go through. So in this video example, the following dynamic filtering rules were created internally: "www.adultswim.com turner.com * allow" and "www.adultswim.com facebook.net * noop". The first rule prevented static filtering from blocking anything, the second rule bypassed my global blocking of facebook.net. Notes: Yes, I knew in advance how to un-break it, so I could provide a quick example. Also for that particular example, the site required that I allow 3rd-party cookies. Note that I used local dynamic filters, so that whatever I had to allow will apply only to that web site, i.e. facebook.net would still be blocked everywhere else. I used SimpleScreenRecorder to capture the footage. Excellent open source software: http://www.maartenbaert.be/simplescre...
