Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Iraq on April 22 for his first official visit since 2011. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani greeted Erdogan with a 21-gun salute after he landed at the Baghdad international airport. The Turkish leader also met with Iraqi President Abdel Latif Rashid in Baghdad. Turkey and Iraq signed a strategic agreement for cooperation in “security, energy and the economy”, al-Sudani said.
