My TV stand has been broken for years, so when I heard about a furniture sale offering one for just 1 yen (approx. $0.01!), I knew I had to take the chance. In Japan, some furniture stores hold massive clearance sales with "1-yen items" to attract customers, usually decided by a lottery. But when I arrived at the venue... I also took a peaceful walk through the nearby Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park in Osaka. This beautiful park is the former site of the 1990 International Garden and Greenery Exposition (Hanahaku).
