Last May, Gov. Hobbs, Attorney General Mayes, and AHCCCS announced the suspension of sober living providers for their role in a fraud across the state. Since that time, AHCCCS has invested considerable resources to care for more than 10,000 residents impacted. With support from tribal liaisons, providers and the legislature, the state has addressed staffing and agency reforms, as well as the legal implications of fraud. While focusing on member impact and humanitarian response efforts, bad actor criminal charges and recoupment of funds have been at the forefront of these changes. AHCCCS Cabinet Executive Officer Carmen Heredia will share updates on the progress made and steps forward to address and prevent sober living fraud. Learn more at azahcccs.gov/soberlivingfraud.
