CX500 Scrambler Custom Wheel Build! / Comstar Wheel Assembly How To The CX500 Scrambler build continues with assembling the custom 17" Comstar rear wheel that is using a CX hub with Goldwing rim and spoke sections. This is still uncharted territory for me but I feel the information I have laid out is safe but absolutely DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH here and be warned that this is a potentially lethal modification! In the last episode I showed you how to safely disassemble the comstar wheels so be sure to check that out if you haven't already. That episode below:    • CX500 Scrambler Custom Wheel Build! Comsta...   After cleaning the wheel components it is ready for assembly. I used the hardware linked below. Inner bolts: M8x70mm JIS 12.9 zinc plated: https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/9573... These were paired with a serrated flange nut similar to these: https://www.mcmaster.com/nuts/flange-... Outer rim bolts used were M7x30mm 12.9 in black oxide: https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/9129... These I paired with washers and nylock nuts. All hardware was also used with red locktite. Inner bolts were torqued to 24lb/ft Outer bolts were torqued to 20 lb/ft The tires I used are Kenda Big Blocks in 100/90/19 and 130/80/17: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/k... NOTE: PLEASE USE GOOGLE - THE INFORMATION IS OUT THERE The Goldwing wheel I am using is from a 1980-1982 model with the "reverse comstars" that look like the same model CX500s.
