I flew up to Ballarat and Bendigo to practice the RNAV approaches at each. Ballarat ERSA page specifies practice approaches should be flown 1000 ft above the published approach altitudes to stay out of the way of circuit traffic, so it's a bit tricky to fly the descent altitudes - mentally adding 1000 to every value, so I manually added 1000 to every altitude on the paper approach chart as well as the intermediate and final approach fixes in the G1000. Bendigo doesn't have this condition so its easy to follow the numbers on the approach chart. It was busy though so I only descended to 3000 over the field before flying the missed approach. My cameras didn't cooperate all the time so I didn't include the bits and pieces of the approaches they did record - not worth it, but I'll get them in next time I'm there. It's also a pity they weren't running when a Qantas 737 flew under me after its takeoff from Tullamarine. The RNP at Moorabbin was all good and I had BSV's owner, Kanwar, following me in. That's him calling at Carrum in UZT, a Cirrus SR20. The orbit over the bay was fun too.
