2017 Oasis of the Seas vs. Hurricane Irma: completely avoided thanks to RC

After being out on our ship for a few days, hurricane Irma entered the Caribbean and was headed for Florida. Our cruise ended up getting extended for three days in order to ensure Port Canaveral would be ready to receive us. For us it was wonderful (though not so for those on land in the hurricane's path). We learned first hand that cruise ships really can move completely out of the way of a hurricane, getting to places where the seas aren't even impacted.
