Quantifying a Good DFAN Test

DFAN, or Direct Field Acoustic Noise testing, is a method for acoustically testing spacecraft or other items without requiring a special, dedicated test facility with a reverberant room. In a DFAN test, a set of speakers are used to surround the test object to recreate an acoustic field. This video covers different types of post test analysis that can be performed to assess the quality of test. This includes comparing levels against the target and assessing the uniformity/diffusivity of the sound field.
