Removing stickers from an acoustic guitar that is in need of some restoration. In this video I test 5 different solutions to remove stickers from a guitar, but this process would work on most wooden varnished surfaces and musical instruments. I try white spirit, turps subs, methylated spirits, lighter fluid and acetone to remove the sticker residue off the guitar. I do this so you don't have too and so if any of them cause damage to the guitar you will know before trying. When I have found the most effective solution for removing stickers from a guitar, I then do several more tests to make sure my conclusion is correct and the solution doesn't damage the guitar surface. The later tests are done on a mandolin and the plastic cover on the back of a Fender strat to make sure the solution didn't damage plastic. The solutions I tested removing stickers were White spirit, turps subs, methylated spirits, lighter fluid and acetone. The best for stripping stickers I found was the acetone.
