Speaker: Dr. Firas Basim Ismail Alnaimi is an Associate Professor and Chartered Engineer (IMechE, UK), currently serving as Head of the Smart Power Generation Research Centre at the Institute of Power Engineering (IPE), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. He is also a registered Consultant Engineer with the Iraqi Engineers Union. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and brings over 17 years of experience in academia, research, and consultancy. He has held roles as Adjunct Professor at Sohar University, Oman, and Visiting Research Fellow at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. His research focuses on smart and renewable power generation, digital twin technology, intelligent monitoring systems, big data analytics, and energy transition strategies.
