The Ford 9 Inch has become a top rear end axle because of its strength and ease of use. Speedway Motors offers a variety of Ford 9 Inch differential types to meet a variety of build needs and make improvements to the design. One such alteration is our Ford 9 Inch center section carrier housing is made of nodular iron. This material makes the housing stronger and more resistant to fatigue, with reinforcements in critical areas. You’ll also notice some extra material around the pinion support, and the bearing caps have been forged and equipped with more material and a reinforcing rib in line with the fasteners. On top of that, we have billet steel adjuster nuts instead of stamped steel to add even more rigidity to the setup. Finally, the carrier uses a milled surface for the gasket, minimizing the chance of leaks. We have also made improvements to the Ford 9 Inch pinion support. We use a Daytona pinion support made from more of that nodular iron with a bigger bearing that offers more support. These come in a variety of differential and spool styles including a helical gear style limited slip, a clutch style limited slip, full spools from standard to ultra-light, and mini spools.
