He wrote under the pen name "Nazeer" and is remembered for his satire in poems like Banjaranama (Chronicle of the Nomad). Nazeer was born as Wali Muhammad in Delhi in 1735 AD, during the decline of the Mughal Empire in India. He migrated to Akbarabad at the age of 22-23, leaving Delhi with his mother and grandmother after Ahmad Shah Abdali attacked the city. Although his poetic treasure consisted of around 200,000 verses, only 6,000 verses are available in printed form. Despite being a "People's poet," his genius was not recognized until later. Nazeer's nazms, which reflect various aspects of daily life, including religious and social events, animals, and seasons, are considered his most admirable works. He died at age 95 in 1830 AD, leaving behind a vast legacy as the "Father of Urdu Nazm."
