During the pre-production of trolls world tour, Benjamin Willis and myself were tasked to come up with a performance test that will showcase Poppy and Barb interacting with each other. After some brainstorming, we came up with an idea that would utilize a scene from the first Trolls movie and add an interesting twist to it. We jumped into the video-reference room and put together the piece you see at the top of the clip as proof of concept. The leadership of the film loved the idea and gave us the green light to make it happen. Ben and I animated it in around 4 weeks with the help of the incredible Luke Randall and the rest of the departments made the final result look incredible.
