✨Floaties for anime/game characters Let's defy gravity. You know those 2D floaty thingies in a lot of anime and game characters designs? Yeah, that's what we're making. 1- We start by cutting 16 gauge wire to the appropriate length. Make sure to leave extra wire depending on how you plan to attach it to yourself 2- Bend the wire to the desired shape 3- Cut fabric about 2-3X the length of your wire. The longer the fabric, the more dense the ruffles 4- Here I made a small scale prototype to demonstrate. Essentially, you sew a 1-2 cm channel in the fabric for the wire to pass through. I sewed a channel in the middle for 2 of my pieces and none for my last piece because I wanted it to float differently. You can position these channels wherever you want really. You don't even have to sew them straight! Why not try a wavy channel? 5- Create a loop in the wire so it can glide smoothly though the channel without catching any fabric 6- Scrunch it to your preferred puff density 7- [OPTIONAL] Add thin EVA foam padding to floaties that are held by pressure for more comfort Happy crafting!
