Wildwood Tramcar Lawsuit Explained

The iconic voice of Floss Stingel, known for the famous "Watch the tramcar, please!" announcement heard on the Wildwood Boardwalk since 1971, is now at the center of a major legal dispute. Stingel has officially filed a lawsuit against the Wildwood Tramcar Operators, the city of Wildwood, and several local entities, including the Wildwood Business Improvement District, Morey's Piers, and the Wildwood Historical Society. The lawsuit, filed on October 21st, alleges misappropriation of her voice and likeness, unjust enrichment, and violations of her right to publicity. Stingel is seeking compensatory damages, an accounting of profits from the use of her voice, restitution of wrongful gains, and an injunction to stop the continued use of her recording without proper authorization.
