BMW X5 Transmission Oil & Filter Change - Complete Process with Torque Specs | BOND Garage

In this video I'll show how to change the oil and filter on a BMW X5 transmission. This is a 5 speed transmission on a pre-LCI BMW E53. While exact torque specs might vary for other transmission, the ballpark and general process is the same as seen here. Just make sure you fill the transmission following the appropriate procedure to ensure it's not low on oil. When it comes to tighten the oil pan bolts, I decided to go with the recommendation from ZF which says to go in a criss-cross pattern starting from the most center bolts. BMW provides a slightly different pattern. Not sure why.
