There's a lot. Disclaimer: This audio not intended for bald people. Personal favorite moment is a little right after 1:50 where the talking goes up and then back down on the right side. Apologies if the levels get a bit wacky and clip at some points. Still trying to find the best way to mix/master the audio. HRTF does some weird things and constrains you to amp/compress/limit in a particular way. Also, I'm not an audio engineer either so I barely know what I'm doing to begin with, lol. This is recorded without the use of a binaural microphone. It also didn't require me to move around while recording. I use a regular mono recording and run it through post-processing software scripts to simulate a binaural effect. A snippet of the code I use is in the image you see in the video. This technique uses something called a Head Related Transfer Function (or HRTF) to modify the left and right audio channels in order to simulate a binaural recording. I'm working on developing a set of software tools that would allow ASMRtists and other content creators to achieve similar binaural effects, without the need to buy additional recording equipment. My hope is that this might lower the barrier to entry for a lot of powerful audio effects that the ASMR community could have at their disposal. You can watch this other video for a much more in-depth explanation of HRTFs, a comparison of the capabilities of HRTFs to binaural recordings, and a healthy amount of mediocre microphone quality. • Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) ASMR... If these sort of software tools are something you'd like to see get developed, or if you'd like to see more content made by me, consider supporting the channel. You don't have to, but you did just make me spend all that time counting your hair.
