Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, is the holiest Gurdwara and the most important pilgrimage site of Sikhism. Located in Amritsar, Punjab, India, it was founded by Guru Ram Das in the 16th century and later completed by Guru Arjan Dev. The temple is renowned for its striking golden architecture, serene water tank (Amrit Sarovar), and open-door policy welcoming people of all faiths. The Guru Granth Sahib, the central scripture of Sikhism, is housed here. Harmandir Sahib symbolizes spiritual equality, humility, and devotion. Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden in Amritsar, Punjab, India, and a site of great historical significance. On April 13, 1919, British troops under General Dyer opened fire on a peaceful gathering, killing hundreds of unarmed civilians. The massacre shocked the nation and became a turning point in India's struggle for independence. Today, the site is preserved as a memorial, with a museum, a flame of liberty, and bullet marks on the walls reminding visitors of the tragedy. Jallianwala Bagh stands as a symbol of sacrifice and resistance against colonial oppression.
