In this episode, we dig into the teardown process a bit further and continue to assess the Jag for potential issues while bagging and tagging all the take-off parts. We start by stripping the exterior trim completely, beginning with the Webasto cloth sunroof. Upon further examination, it's in better shape than we expected. All of the chrome comes off next, leaving the question of whether to re-plate the brightwork or start over with new reproduction trim. Inside, we remove all the woodwork and determine we'll leave the refinishing to experts in this specialized skill. With the seats crumbling, we set our sights on getting started with reupholstery as a possible next step. Finally, we go back under the hood and discover that the previously rebuilt engine cranks and has oil pressure and compression, giving us hope for the future of the project.
