This movie was taken with my Kodak Reliant Regular 8mm camera. It was my camera for eight years until the era of the Bauer Super 8mm. The regular 8mm. used 16mm. roll film and you flipped the roll over to record the second side. After Kodak Laboratories processed the film, they split it in half. The image was smaller than in the Super 8 because the 16mm. film had large sprocket holes. The Super 8mm. was much easier to use, since it was in a cartridge. The center hole in a Super 8mm. reel is a bit larger and if you have a viewer that can handle both, there is a small hole-reducing adapter that you insert. For good projection on a screen you really need separate projectors. My original one is a Kodak Kodascope 8, which takes a full 400-foot reel. Both films last about 3 minutes, so this particular movie required about six rolls because I edited all my movies using a splicer and film cement. Currently, most 8mm. home movie film editors that transfer your movies to a USB key will handle both types. Before taking off for Seattle, we took mom and dad to the airport and the two of them took Delta Airlines to Washington State. When we did leave Camp Meacham, we left our dog in the care of the next caretaker at the camp. We did not abandon him on the highway, as it seems to show in this movie. The first school we pass is A. J. Jolly Elementary school in California, Kentucky. YMCA Camp Meacham is located on the shores of the Ohio River in Mentor, slightly south of California, Kentucky and just about an hour's drive north to Newport, Kentucky and then to Covington, Kentucky and then finally to the bridge and on to Cincinnati. FYI - At 6:54 we added a sign that reads "Cincinnati to Seattle or Bust". When we drove in on Aurora Avenue just a block or so from KING radio studios and Dag's Burgers, many people applauded as we slowly drove by. Beefy Boy burgers were just 19 cents.
