Westport | Baltimore Light Rail Stops across the Network

We take a look at Westport station, located in south Baltimore Probably the most unfortunate community -- no disrespect -- the light rail links to, Westport is lined with a long list of neglect & misfortunes. At the mouth of the Patapsco River and just across from downtown Baltimore, it's history full of unfortunate events done so by city officials in the yesteryears. From the beginning, Westport was an industrial-plex community for factory workers and their families. As industries started moving to greater pastures and zoning laws, the community fell into slums. In comes the Baltimore-Washington Parkway "highway" that divided the community in half and further leaving a bad mark on the neighborhood. As time has gone on, the western-half of Westport has somewhat kept there side decent but the eastern-half -- again, no disrespect -- has become a deadpan. With all the negativity aside, there is some glamour to Westport as Mount Auburn Cemetery [since it's cleanup] as become a picture-esque landmark. The waterfront has potential but the fear of gentrification lingers but some things are just inevitable unfortunately. The close proximity to downtown via Russell Street. As much as I want to give positives, it dims a bit because you see it firsthand for what it is and not what you assume. Nearby Mount Winans has followed the same misfortunes and has been left neglected as well; rather by purpose or not. *Note: I had to change the interest rating to a "1/5" because... meh.
