Master Finish provides a wide array of decorative plating processes. In addition to our rack plating processes we also provide a lower cost alternative—barrel plating, as shown in this video. Please note that we’ve increased the speed in this video clip to help show you the many process steps required. In the barrel plating process small metal components are placed into a slowly rotating barrel which makes its way through each of the process tanks. What you don’t see in this video is an operator moving the barrel from tank to tank. Like all of the other plating processes at Master Finish, we rely on fully automated process control. Laser guided hoist positioning and preprogrammed computer driven recipes direct all the travel, dwell times, and rectifier settings. This automation eliminates the human intervention and variation from our process, delivering precise, consistent, and efficient plating results. The barrel plating line you are watching is depositing bright nickel onto small metal components to enhance corrosion resistance and deliver a bright lustrous appearance. In addition, we can also apply ReplaChrome, our decorative chrome replacement topcoat, which will give your components a bright chrome-like appearance at a very attractive price.
