2013 has been a disastrous year for EA. The publisher had to write more apology letters than Tiger Woods after a Bangkok vacation. Here are five good reasons why EA completely screwed up this year. Problems with EA's servers meant gamers were unable to play this online only game for days after launch. The publisher apologized and offered a free game to make up for the DRM disaster. 4. Battlefield 4 epic fail EA pushed Battlefield 4 out the door early in order to beat Call of Duty to the market and boy did it backfire. The many glitches, bugs and crashes made the online mode basically unplayable. EA says its working hard on patches to resolve the issues. 3. Command and Cancelled Command and Conquer fans were in for an unpleasant surprise when Electronic Arts suddenly cancelled the free-to-play reboot months before release. We spoke with developer Victory Games at the E3 this year and the game actually looked kind of promising. What a shame. 2. NBA Live 14 embarrassment NBA Live made its return this year after a lengthy period on the bench but it wasn't the triumphant comeback EA had hoped for. Critics described the graphics as "PS2-like" with gameplay that felt just as dated. The difference between Lebron James in NBA Live 14 and NBA 2K14 says it all. Ouch. 1. Worst Company in America EA won the Consumerist poll for being the "Worst Company in America" for the second year in a row in 2013. And judging by all the screw ups on this list they kind of deserve the title. Lets hope they learn from their mistakes and won't win it a third time next year.
