Under the Hyderabad Comprehensive Master Plan 2050, the city’s development area will expand from 7,250 sq km to nearly 10,500 sq km, reaching up to the Regional Ring Road (RRR). As part of this vision, HMDA’s jurisdiction has been extended across 11 districts to enable planned urban and industrial growth. A major highlight of this plan is the construction of 16 Greenfield Roads between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the Regional Ring Road (RRR). These roads are designed to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and support large-scale industrial corridors and integrated townships. The first major Greenfield Road will connect Raviryal ORR Exit 13 to Amangal over 41 km, while the second major corridor will run from Budvel ORR Exit 17 to Kosgi over nearly 81 km. The Budvel–Kosgi Greenfield Road will connect key TGIC industrial zones and logistics hubs, linking them directly to National Highway 167. This corridor will pass through areas like Chandhanvelly, Peraram, Gudur, Dornalpally, and Domathirtha, reaching up to Kodangal constituency. These roads will play a crucial role in freight movement, industrial growth, and future employment generation. HMDA has already issued land acquisition notifications for these corridors. While some farmers are seeking higher compensation and others are raising concerns, officials say all issues will be addressed before finalizing the DPR. Out of the 81 km Budvel–Kosgi road, about 52 km falls under HMDA limits. In addition to these two corridors, the government plans 14 more Greenfield Roads, ensuring seamless connectivity from Inner Ring Road → ORR → RRR. Along these corridors, the Telangana government is planning large-scale affordable and premium townships, industrial parks, and smart urban clusters. By 2047, the RRR region is expected to emerge as Hyderabad’s next growth engine, supporting balanced urban expansion, environmental conservation, public transport, and sustainable infrastructure.
