Guwahati (Assam), Sep 18 (ANI): National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam excluded around 2,000 transgenders from its list. Assam’s first transgender Judge and petitioner, Swati Bidhan Baruah spoke to ANI on the matter of the exclusion of transgenders from the list and said, “Most transgenders were abandoned, they don't have documents pertaining to before 1971. Objection applications didn't contain 'others' as gender category. NRC wasn't inclusive for transgenders and forced them to accept male or female as their gender.
