LAPD officers shot and killed 27-year-old Victor Manuel Carrillo after a violent confrontation inside an occupied apartment in the Rampart Division. The incident happened around 4:10 AM on June 19, 2025, after multiple 911 calls reported a burglary in progress. Bodycam footage shows Carrillo throwing objects at officers and arming himself with a knife and metal chair before forcing entry into an apartment. Officers responded with less-lethal munitions and ultimately opened fire when Carrillo confronted them inside the unit. Two civilians were injured during the struggle.
