Leader of breakaway region Nagorno-Karabakh dissolves the self-declared republic

Queues of people are still trying to leave, more than a week after Azerbaijan took control in a swift military offensive. The leader of Nagorno-Karabakh has signed a decree, ordering the dissolution of the self-declared republic. All state institutions will cease to exist from January the 1st next year. More than half of the 120,000 ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh have fled to Armenia. That's about 68,000 people. Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, is urging the international community to act against what he calls ethnic cleansing.
