EASTMAN E10SS SLOPE SHOULDER DREADNOUGHT Review | WHY IT'S "MY PPPRECIOUS" :)))

Eastman E10SS slope shoulder dreadnought review (solid Adirondack spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides) Timestamps: 01:48 My story and the story with the guitar 12:58 Exterior finish and hard case 15:48 Sound test - unplugged 18:00 Sound test - plugged (Bose S1 Pro amp) My sax teacher told me this week it’s time to upgrade to a professional mouthpiece and brought a few of the mouthpieces to try. When I asked him how to pick one among so many different brands and varieties, he said it’s a little bit like Harry Potter where the wand picks you. Now I feel this is what happened with this guitar. I’ve been thinking about checking a steel string acoustics for a long time. I’ve read and watched multiple reviews online. I even had an idea of what shape of guitar I’d like and had narrowed it down to specific models. I actually once tried to go to the shop a few months ago only to realise I caught the bus in the wrong direction. Because I had a sax lesson later in the day, I’d only have had 20 minutes in the shop, so I thought it’s not meant to be that time and left it until later. Then a guy I bought my amp from mentioned he had a collection of 30 guitars, and when I asked him his opinion about a Yamaha guitar, he raved about Eastman - I’d never heard of the brand before. When I went to the shop, I asked for a travel size Eastman. Then I started looking around and trying other guitars. I never thought I’d go for a dreadnought as the name implies something huge and bulky, and I thought I’d prefer a cutaway shape. When I picked this guitar, I immediately liked how comfortable it felt to hug it, I loved the finish and the sound. Then I asked for a similar spec cutaway Eastman which I thought I’d like. And it was beautiful too and actually somewhat easier to play, but I kept going back to this guitar. After two sleepless nights and a trip to another guitar shop, I couldn’t stop thinking about this guitar. I actually confused the model names and when I realised that I had the wrong model number, I thought it was odd that the shop website had none shown in stock. Then I discovered that there was only one used guitar of that model in stock of that model and it was actually less than the price of a new one. That happened to be the actual guitar I tried on the first day. So I then decided to give it a proper test run with my amp and went in today with my mock-up setup: amp, tablet with chord charts, mic, capo, pick, etc. I wanted to go with a more knowledgeable and experience friend, but he wasn’t available until next week. The weather was also not great for outdoors, but I just couldn’t wait. When I got to the shop, I asked to be put into a closed room so that I would feel uninhibited and less self-conscious about trying things and messing up. I originally wanted to try it out next to my current guitar to see if there was really much difference between the two to warrant getting another guitar. I ended up playing for an hour and a bit until the sales guy who checked in two or three times in between hinted it maybe time for a decision. I think I already knew the answer inside me that I couldn’t let this guitar by, so I put a deposit down. Apparently, as I was playing the guitar someone actually enquired about the guitar. So here is some video of the process. It’s still in the shop, but I can now relax knowing that it will be mine soon. I still wonder if it’s too advanced for my skill level, but then I think perhaps this is a good way to crown my one year guitarversary.
