Welcome back to another vlog, this time exploring the beautiful city of Ponce on the southside of Puerto Rico. We’re going to take you through our favorite places to go and restaurants to eat at if you’re visiting for a limited time. Make sure to walk around the city and take in the historical sites. If you have time, we recommend going to Castillo Serrallés and going up the Cruceta del Vigía for views of the city, plus you can walk around the Japanese garden and see some butterflies! 🚗How to Get There: About an 1hr 20 min drive from San Juan without traffic Can fly into Mercedita International Airport 🏨Where we Stayed Boutique Hotel Belgica- booked on airbnb at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/29518185 🥞Breakfast Recommendations JohnTin Café- a bit of a walk from the downtown but a great stroll through the city Tazza d’Oro- right in the main plaza and inside seating if you go in the summer Gallo Espresso Café Bar- also right in the plaza but has more open/outdoor seating if you go in the winter when it is cooler 🍽Lunch/Dinner Recommendations Vistas- Rooftop restaurant in the main plaza The Fox Hotel- we ate ate Sushi & Wine but there are lots of options like drinks, apps, burgers, wraps/sandwiches, salads, and brunch and coffee La Guancha- head over to the waterfront for lots of kiosks filled with foods like pinchos and empanadas, and then you can even enjoy the beach! Cukidou for a sweet treat! ⛪️Things to See Plaza Degetau- live music and little market Parque de Bombas Plaza Luis Muñoz Rivera Catedral Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Casa Alcaldía Primer Iglesia Metodista Unida 🌊Nearby Waterfall Tres Palmitas- about a 20 minute drive and very accessible, has a fun river area to explore and a little waterfall you can jump from 🌟Bonus Places to Go/See if You’re Coming from San Juan Take a scenic drive east along route 1 and stop at Playa Salinas Take the exit off of Highway 52 for Route 184 in an area called Guavate where there are lots of great restaurants many with gorgeous views too, such as Alavera Bar & Kitchen Overall, we loved Ponce and definitely recommend visiting this historic city, as well as getting out and exploring the surrounding areas. 💙 THANK YOU FOR WATCHING 💙 ✨ Have a beautiful day, 🌸XO Becca
