Hello, everyone! I'm excited to share my latest silk painting video with you. In today's project, I combined two techniques on one shirt: batik and silk painting. Batik, with its rich history, has always been a traditional technique that inspires me, and I love experimenting with it. However, due to time constraints, I couldn't delve into the details. Silk painting, on the other hand, is a great practice for anyone interested in the craft, providing new learning experiences with each project. For this video, I chose chamois silk and applied a hot wax mixture for batik, combining beeswax and paraffin wax in a 40% and 60% ratio, respectively. Using a 3-inch brush, I created batik lines with hot wax and later painted over them with silk paints. It's worth noting that I opted for silk paints instead of dip-dye for my batik project. The gutta used in today's video is water-based and golden in color, complementing the silk paints for further detailing. With over 20 years of experience in painting, I continue to learn from my mistakes. Each silk painting project brings me joy as I explore different techniques. In this video, I experimented by incorporating peacock feathers into the floral design. Since my client prefers a simpler print, I approached the project with a more straightforward style. I'll be sharing the list of materials used in this video, detailing the items featured in my project.
