On February 12th, 2018 I met with Sheridan Adams and purchased a VM-68 from him. Sheridan had the VM-68 listed on craigslist for the past few months and was slowly coming down on price. To most the VM-68 (originally a Magnum or EXE Model) wouldn't stand out, but if you looked closely at the photos you could identify a very cut down hammer. Recently I've met with Sergey at Technical Trouble Shooting and Lapco and he showed me an example of his Anti Full Auto Hammer. This modification would not only lighten the hammer but also prevent the VM from going fully automatic after it ran low on gas. Looking at Adam's VM68 I could tell it had this hammer modification and from the arrangement of parts I guessed it was done by Sergey and built by him with his parts. To my surprised, when we met up, I started talking to Sheridan and could tell he loved paintball. I asked him if he would be interested in recording this quick video and he agreed and we covered not only where he played, who he played with, the VM-68, which he ended up taking to ANS to have modified, and some of his memorable games. Sheridan remembers brining the VM to Army Navy Supply in Simi Valley (prior to being ANS), and the owner Peter told him that he could have a few modifications done on it. It was then likely sent to Sergey and Sergey put all his parts on it and lightened the hammer. This was while Sergey was doing work as Technical Trouble Shooting. As Sheridan continued telling his story, he went on to explain he actually played with the Southern California Team Mafia, which Danny Guardado, Gilbert Martinez and many other players from our So Cal Stock group played with! Giant thanks to Sheridan and his enthusiasm for paintball and I will have a video shooting this VM-68 once I have it cycling. The hammer is too light right now and I think I need a weaker spring.
