Lentas is a small fishing village in Southern Crete, back in antiquity was known as Leben or Lebena and was the port city of Gortys an important Minoan city and the capital of Crete in hellenistic and roman era when the capital of the islands was moved from Knossos to Gortys in the inland to avoid the pirate raids.
