Ok, so I have to put a little back story on here because it is worthy of explanation in my opinion. I'll start with the fact that Release is my favorite PJ song. I was able to see PJ in Amsterdam last summer and was very fortunate to see them play Release live. Move forward to this year and I find out Aaron Lewis is going to be at the Cotillion in Wichita, KS on June 20. I got tickets well in advance for a voice that is absolutely amazing and for someone I think is just pretty bad ass. I had seen other YouTube clips of Aaron covering Release and it got me to thinking... I should utilize technology and try to get him to play it in Wichita so I could see one of my favorite songs performed by another great vocalist. I took to Twitter. About a month and a half before the show, I decided to tweet Aaron Lewis every day to see if I could get his attention to cover Release. It worked. He replied to one of my tweets within a week telling me to keep reminding him and he would play it for me. And then he replied again a week later. I sent him at least one tweet a day reminding him to cover Release for me. He replied to me again the night before the show and then twice the night of the show. I was able to get there early enough to secure front row 'seats' for the show. I even made a sign just in case all of my tweets were not sufficient. I definitely didn't give him an opportunity to forget about it, that's for sure. Obviously by the video, you can tell he totally came through for me. And it was amazing!! I absolutely loved it!! During the 2nd verse, you can hear me yell "Thank You!" to him and he smiles at me. What a stand up guy for accommodating his fans! Makes me love him even more. I gave my camera to my friend so I could thoroughly enjoy the song he sang. For me. It was incredible! Anyway, that's my backstory for this... You're welcome, Wichita, KS for adding Release to the set list. :)
