Discussing End of Life With Children and Families

End of Life care is a difficult subject for patients and families to discuss, but is an important part of caring for a patient who is dying. In this webinar, panelists will teach techniques for getting a child to talk openly about their wishes, the best ways to answer a child's questions about death, how to create a living will with a patient, and how to prepare siblings and other family members for a patient's death. Techniques for how to teach other medical professionals ways to start the end of life discussion will also be discussed and this webinar will present a guide for collaboration between hospital units and include a video demonstrating an end of life discussion between a doctor and child. This webinar was made possible by a grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities and help from the Child Life Council.
