I haven't used any retarder to slow down the drying time but it would be useful to try this as it can be difficult. I only mix small amounts of paint and apply in sections, allow each layer to dry before continuing with the next colour. This video is edited to allow time to dry between different paint applications but the sequences are shown in real time.
