Supplies I use for watercolor lessons Brands are very much optional, but you do need items specific to watercolor. The links below are my affiliate links with Amazon. It is free for you but I get paid a small amount if you purchase through them. You can also use them as reference to look up a product. You'll need: Watercolor paper: I'll be using 5 by 7 watercolor paper, you can use any size you have for this, just go much smaller. Canson is decent student quality https://amzn.to/39Y9YzC Strathmore is good student quality https://amzn.to/3t22nqj Arches is great, pro artists choose it often https://amzn.to/3MUlR8d Be prepared to have an extra sheet or two for stroke practice before we actually paint the flower. Watercolor Paint: I like this set https://amzn.to/3t1P1KF , but I use a combo of different brands. You will need lemon yellow, warm yellow, cool blue, magenta or rose, and black. Cheap watercolor won't flow and/or give you good pigment. You also don't need pro-quality expensive paint. Aim somewhere in between. Waterproof black ink pen/artist marker Micron 05 is what I love https://amzn.to/3wUO2hG Watercolor paint brush A good paintbrush is 80 if not 90% success in your watercolor adventure. My brushes range in $3-$6 a brush, cheap brushes don't hold paint very well and won't do the strokes right. For this painting I'll only use my medium round watercolor brush. This link looks good to me, but I haven't bought brushes online in a while . https://amzn.to/3aldeFn
