[4K] Flight of the Pterosaur at Paultons Park, join us for a soaring suspended coaster experience in Lost Kingdom as we glide high above the prehistoric landscape with incredible views across Valgard: Realm of the Vikings including Drakon, Raven, Vild Swing and the expanding Viking-themed land for 2026. Take flight on one of the UK’s most popular family suspended coasters, Flight of the Pterosaur during the 2026 season at Paultons Park. This Vekoma suspended family coaster offeres fantastic views across Lost Kingdom and beyond. From the highest points of the layout, riders can now clearly see the full scale of Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, the park’s newest themed land opening 16th May 2026. Flight of the Pterosaur opened on 17th May 2016 as part of the £9 million Lost Kingdom expansion. Featuring 395 metres of suspended track and speeds exceeding 30mph, the ride simulates the sensation of flying through dinosaur territory. Riders’ legs dangle freely beneath the train as it banks, curves, and dives past jungle scenery and prehistoric theming. On-ride photos are available at Outpost 12 so guests can capture their adventure above the dinosaurs. Height restrictions for Flight of the Pterosaur are a minimum of 1 metre with a minimum age of 4 years. Guests under 8 years old or under 1.2 metres must ride with a responsible adult. Lost Kingdom transformed four acres of Paultons Park when it opened in May 2016. Alongside Flight of the Pterosaur, the area includes Velociraptor, Dino Chase, Boulder Dash, The Dinosaur Tour Co., Alive! dinosaur meet and greet, Splash Lagoon, and The Little Explorers play area. Splash Lagoon opened in 2024, replacing the former Temple Heights ride Lost Kingdom now sits directly beside Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, featuring Drakon, Paultons Park’s first ever inverting roller coaster built by Gerstlauer, Raven, a reborn family coaster integrated into the Viking storyline, and Vild Swing, the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing, a 12 metre tall Top Spin style ride. Valgard replaced former attractions including the Go Karts, Dragon Roundabout, Raging River Rapids and Magma, marking one of the most significant land transformations in Paultons Park’s history. Paultons Park, located in Hampshire’s New Forest, is home to over 70 rides and attractions including Peppa Pig World, Tornado Springs, Critter Creek, and Lost Kingdom. In 2025, the park opened Ghostly Manor, an interactive haunted dark ride inside the former 4D Cinema building, introducing a new style of immersive gameplay attraction to the park. Looking ahead, Paultons Park continues to invest in major developments, with its first on-site hotel currently under construction and a large new water ride planned for 2027 following its announcement at the park’s Super Fan event.
