Splenic artery pseudoaneurysm embolization with nBCA glue

Endovascular glue embolization of a splenic artery pseudoaneurysm embolization. The patient had rapidly falling hematocrit and was rushed to the CT and then the DSA suite where the ruptured aneurysm was embolised using nBCA-lipiodol mixture. The tortuosity of the proximal artery prevented the microcatheter from tracking distal to the aneurysm, hence glue injection provided a rapid occlusion of the aneurysm as well as a segment of the artery both proximal and distal to the aneurysm. The only issue in such cases is the chance of splenic infarct, however, care was taken to not let the glue flow off distally into the intrasplenic smaller vessels -It needs some expertise though ! | AIIMS Patna | Interventional Radiology
