On April 19, 2023, an armed robbery took place at a convenience store in North Miami. The suspects fled the scene in a white Lexus, prompting North Miami Police to request assistance from other agencies. The Lexus was later spotted in Opa-Locka, and despite efforts to surround the car, the suspects managed to escape. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) then joined the chase as the Lexus traveled through several cities at high speeds. The pursuit continued northbound on Florida's Turnpike into Palm Beach and back into Broward County.
