In this video, I talk about my experience trying Quicken Simplifi after Mint shut down. It wasn’t that the tool didn’t work—because it did. The truth is that my life changed, my needs changed, and the style of tracking I used to love just didn’t fit anymore. Paper and pen didn’t stick. Excel didn’t stick. And Simplifi, even though it was polished, felt like another thing I wasn’t checking. I wanted to be honest about that, because a lot of us outgrow old systems as our lives shift. Now that I’m on a journey to eventually leave my 9–5 through investing, I need a way to track my expenses and progress that actually fits my real life.
