The Vermillion Red Resoglas, (Fiberglass), finish looks awesome and check out the White National Headstock...Beautiful....The guitar still has its original metal National date sticker on the back of the headstock. It identifies it as a 1962. This model was only offered from 1962 thru 1965...First year for this one!! This cool National Guitar is original from top to bottom. They used very high quality parts back then. It has the original Grover Tuners, Valco made Single coil pickups with individual pole piece adjustments, pickguard, knobs, nut, and bridge...everything on this pristine guitar is original. I had Jeff the Tech go over it and set it up like all of them with low playing easy action. It’s a pleasure to play. Thats it....There is some chrome that has worn off the neck pickup from some tarnishing...see pic 3..Only cosmetic...and the only thing to prevent us from calling this guitar Mint...its just beautiful! The guitar has a very cool feature. You have individual controls over the volume and tone on both pickups thru the three way switch. However, you also have controls over the volume and tone in the middle setting. Thru distinct volume and tone settings for awesome sounds on this uber cool guitar. The top models in the National Glenwood range, the 98 and 99 versions, used an innovative magnetic ‘Silver‑Sound’ pickup (often incorrectly referred to as a piezo transducer) installed as part of the bridge assembly. This additional pickup was an early attempt to emulate acoustic guitar tones. This innovation was well ahead of its time and debatably successful. As an alternative to the standard trapeze tailpiece, National Res‑O‑Glas guitars came with a variety of vibrato systems, including those from in‑house Valco, Burns or Bigsby. The humbucker‑sized single coil Valco ‘Vista‑Tone’ (sometimes also referred to as ‘Vista‑Power’) pickup used in National and Supro guitars was designed by Ralph Keller and patented in 1952. Its internal construction comprises two magnets located to one side of a single coil bobbin. The unusual design, which has some similarities to the Gretsch ‘HiLoTron’ single coil pickup, has attracted quite a cult following over the years. It comes with the shown original Hardshell Map shaped case. If this guitar didn't have the original case, good luck finding one...they are super rare. If you could find one, it would sell for around $400...oh, and you would be bidding against me for it..LOL.... This guitar is sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. However, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 20 years now and they all love the guitars I found them. This cool National will certainly not be an exception.
